A separating funnel has the shape of a pointed flask with a drain cock at its tip. The separating funnel is used for the liquid-liquid extraction of two immiscible liquids (substance separation process) and can thus also be used for cleaning processes. The liquid with the higher density collects in the lower part of the vessel and can be drained via the drain cock. The printed scale allows an exact volume determination. The separating funnel enables the separation of immiscible liquids (liquid-liquid extraction).
